Towards Evolving Configuration Models

چکیده
Configuration models describe commonality and variability as well as restrictions within and between components of a product domain. Whenever new versions or variants of products are brought to the market, changes to the configuration model (i.e. evolution) are inevitable. In this paper we discuss what kind of modifications are necessary for evolution and the potential effects on the model’s consistency and on products during and after the configuration process. Validity intervals are presented as a promising approach to incorporate a versioning history for knowledge entities in configuration models.

Potentials of Evolving Linear Models in Tracking Control Design for Nonlinear Variable Structure Systems
Evolving models have found applications in many real world systems. In this paper, potentials of the Evolving Linear Models (ELMs) in tracking control design for nonlinear variable structure systems are introduced. At first, an ELM is introduced as a dynamic single input, single output (SISO) linear model whose parameters as well as dynamic orders of input and output signals can change through ...
متن کاملA Model Checking Verification Environment for Uml Statecharts
In this paper we present the state/event-based temporal logic μUCTL which is a logic oriented towards a natural description of dynamic properties of UML models. This logic allows to specify the basic properties that a runtime system configuration should satisfy and to combine these basic predicates with logic and temporal operators which allow to take into consideration also the events performe...
متن کاملTowards Automated Auditing for Network Configuration Changes
IP network operators face the challenge of making and managing low-level device configuration changes to accommodate the rapidly evolving needs of IP networks. As a first step towards automating this task, we explore a data-driven approach to audit high-level change activity in IP networks, by reverse engineering low-level longitudinal configuration data. We demonstrate the utility of our appro...
متن کاملA Change Management Approach in Product Lines for Use Case-Driven Development and Testing
In this paper, driven by industrial needs, we present a change management approach for product lines within the context of use case-driven development and testing. As part of the approach, we first provide a modeling method to support variability modeling in Product Line (PL) use case diagrams, specifications, and domain models, intentionally avoiding any reliance on feature models and thus avo...
